| | Galactic Overlord | Degree's So I was talking to Coryd55's mom yesterday and told her that even though I had a B.S. in biology ( University of Tennessee, Chattanooga 1991), I worked for the post office.
While I do feel I am putting my degree to good use ( the fishhouse and soon to be store), I was wondering:
who else out there had a degree
and
if you are using your degree in your currently employment? Last edited by Dino; December 9th, 2007 at 07:14 PM.

| | Fish Bum | I have an A.S. in nursing and since I am currently working as a nurse, I am putting that one to good use and have for the last 20 years. I also have a B.S. in education and since I do a lot of teaching with my patients, I suppose I am putting that one to use as well. Although, that was not my intention when getting the Ed. degree. |

| | Fish Keeper | The college environment was not very kind to me, ended up pursuing Journeyman's Papers instead. No Student loans |

| | King of Curt | I am working on an online Real-Estate certification, but that doesn't count until after I get it, I suppose.
Anyone wanna tell what University they went to, and if they'd suggest that university to others for your major? |

| | Galactic Overlord | Yes, I would reccommend UTC for a B.S. in Biology.
That program now works with the Tennessee Aquarium to provide a B.S. with an emphasis on aquatics. |

| | Fish Addict | I have a degree in Drafting and Design Technology. I went to a trade school (2 year course).
I'm currently using my degree as I started out doing computer drafting. I'm now in project management, but still do some drafting.
I have been doing drafting for about 9 or 10 years, since my freshman year in high school. I started and learned by drawing by hand. I'm not an artist, but give me tools and instruments and I can draw anything you need. As you can see from my "Want to Build a Tank" thread, I can get pretty creative. When I started on CAD, I was using R10 which was all DOS. |

| | Master Of Fish Poo! | I have an associates degree in computer science and an AA degree (just have to pick it up next time I'm in Florida) and they've been utterly and totally useless as far as work goes and I'm not sure it's even worth the $20 to pick up the AA degree that I'd just stick in a box. |

| | Fish Keeper | I have an associate's degree in computer science. I work as a secretary where I use a computer often, and my co-workers come to me with computer questions...so my degree has worked out all right. |

| | Fish Master | I have a BSc in Zoology, a MSc in Information Systems, and a CPIM in logistics.
Never worked in zoology, but taxonomy is a huge interest of mine. I have this system of folders on my PC and my ambition is to have a picture of a typical species of each family in the animal kingdom. It'll be never ending, but I have fun trying.
I work in IT and logistics, but am at a crossroads in my career. Don't know what I want to do next, but definitely no more consulting. Last edited by armadillo; December 10th, 2007 at 11:26 AM.

| | King of Curt | Oh and my online real-estate course is through Career Web School. So far so good, I would definately suggest the program, have yet to complete it so dunno how that'll go, but the course material is very comprehensive and very affordable. ($400 for the Tennessee Real-Estate broker's prelicensing program, Real-Estate Math course, and Prelicensing exam prep course, and I think an additional $100 for two chances at taking the Tennessee Real-Estate broker's licensing test.)
I asked if anyone who felt comfy posting their university and whether or not they'd recommend it to do so and forgot to do so myself, how normal of me. |
