| When will it stop? I have posted in a few threads about MTS... and its uncanny way of finding a way to keep rearing its ugly head...
At first, when I said I had MTS... it was cute... yea yea the crazy fish people... right, no biggie... but then we got another tank, and another, and another...after each one, we agreed it was to be the last... well...
As I sit here now, I have already asked Santa for yet another tank, and this is the biggest yet... we (my husband and I) are figuring how we are going to rearrange for tank placement, and he is figuring out how he is going to build yet another stand.
I think MTS is easier when only one household member is affected, it helps to keep the insanity to a minimum... but we both have it, so there is no one to say enough is enough... So, I am not sure if its good or bad... but hoo-boy... its fun, fun, fun! |

| And just how many of these tanks were bought with the thought of them replacing several smaller tanks? I'm wanting to replace my 55 with a 125 and then I catch myself planning the New and Improved 55 after everyone's settled in the tank I don't even have yet. That's not even considering the 20 I'm getting ready to set up for my son. |

| In addition to the MTS, we are discussing upgrading too. Instead of just adding more and more, we are also trying to max out space. Places where we have the smaller tanks, we are looking to upgrade gallons... however, that poses some problems as I am not to crazy about having a large tank on the second floor in case there is a leak or a tank cracks or just lets go... |

| Let me just say this all started because we thought that giving our 5 year old a small fish tank for Easter would be better than a basket of candy...
Jokes on us, I guess. |

| We are in the same club as you are. One of us gets fish fever and the other one catches it...no one says: "Now hun we cannot afford that right now"it's like an addiction. Sometimes we have slacked on our grocery order to get fish stuff. |

| It never goes away, although the symptoms may disappear for awhile. I hadn't bought any new tank stuff or thought about it in 7 or 8 years, but lately the MTS came back and there's nothing I can do about it.
I just try and keep it to a level where it's enjoyable and doesn't become work. |

| We get a new tank, and it does satisfy MTS for a while, but as soon as that tank is cycled, stocked and we have had a bottle of wine (or 2) with some cheese and crackers in front of it for a few nights, we start planning a new one. |

| Our slow down is due to balancing putting up paneling vs building racks to hold more tanks. |

As for MTS- there is no cure you just have to treat the symptoms. More tanks, more fish

I love cats but there is a limit. The crazy cat lady with 100 cats probably doesn't take care of them properly or fix them.
How anyone can stand the smell of cat spray or listening to a female cat in heat, let alone a hundred of them at once. Last edited by Allie; December 3rd, 2007 at 12:03 AM.

| MTS is just the beginning...You don't have that anymore.
You have MTD!!!! That's the disease, and my girlfriend and I are right there with you.
I just bought her another 29 gallon tank to replace 2 10s she has. Well, I get the 2 10s...well, not really. What I get, instead, is the 55, which was mine to begin with...See...that's the tank that started MY MTSs. Hers started with a betta bowl. In my betta ignorance, I bought it for Christmas last year. In February, I bought the betta for the bowl. A month later...I bought a real tank for her....since then...we have purchased 10 5 gallon, 10 2.5 gallon, 6 10 gallons, 2 20s, 2 29s, 1 40, 1 55, and 1 75.
You see...it gets to be a disease VERY quickly. Give in to the dark side...buy more tanks. |
