Restocking my 29, need some top swimmers

So as some of you know my angels have passed away freeing up some space in my tank. Currently I have:
4 harlequin rasboras
3 male fancy tail guppies
6 female feeder guppies (will probably be donating these to someone by me soon)
1 male bn pleco, full grown at 3"
1 female bn pleco, full grown at 3.25" (giving to my aunt)
2 otos
1 bamboo shrimp

So my stock soon will be:
4 harlequin rasboras
3 male fancy tail guppies
1 male bn pleco
2 otos
1 bamboo shrimp

My planned stock will be to add 3-4 more otos and rasboras. I will still have some room and I'd like to get some surface swimmers and I'm thinking some danios. Are there any other types of surface swimmers out there that are small that I'm not thinking of? I'm not interested in gouramis, bettas, butterfly fish.

thanks

I don't know how easy it'd be to get hold of these, but for something a little different you might like Clown Killifish. The are very beautiful, very small and definite surface swimmers

Have you thought of hatchetfish? or is that one of those fish that is a no-go?

I have to second zebra danios. Mine just share a tank with some shrimp so they are all over but they mainly "play" at the surface.

If not Hatchetfish, I would go with the danios. I have 5 longfinned zebras in my 70 and they are very active in the top layers of the tank. Another plus is that they are extremely affordable.

Bill I like killifish idea, I forgot about them though I've only seen them once around me. I'll keep an eye out for them. Thanks

I'm a bit leery about buying hatchetfish, they are a bit expensive by me and are sensitive to water conditions. I know some people by me who have bought them and they all slowly die one by one, though I may try them, they are really cool fish, I will just watch them carefully at the store.

So far I will get:
killifish
hatchet fish
danios

Any more?

Glad you like the killies

Capekate; here is a brief profile of their requirements, it seems like they prefer soft and acidic water and they like to be in a group. I'd love to get some for my tank, but the water here is alkaline and hard, and the only place I could get them from would be mail order. If I got 6 of them, it would cost me £34.10 (about $70)

Hi Bill
thanks for the link! Im happy to see that they prefer the low PH and acidic water, since my PH is around 6.0-6.4. I like that site and checked out the fish for sale. Not bad for shipping! So I know whats going on my Xmas wish list!!! Yeaaaa....... I really want a few of those clown killifish! Now I have to get someone in my family to buy them for me! lol...

Ok so I went to my fish store by me they had 25% off everything and purchased 35$ of fish for 29$. They had a few killifish but they didn't look so good so I didn't get them. Instead I bought one marble angel, 4 more otos, 2 zebra danios, 2 orange and 2 yellow zebra danios. There the genetically altered ones, that they use for detecting pollution, so no they are not dyed or tatooed. Pics to come, they are being acclimated in the dark currently.
