mystery snails sleep?

Give him time.
Sometime they just sit on the heater or close to filter then they start again. Maybe you don't have too many algae on the glass to keep him busy but he will find some. Try a algae pelet to see if he is interested.
I was told they sometime stay inside the shell building/repairing it. Don't know if it's true. Mine had letargic periods for a day no longer yet (I have him for 7 months).
As the rest of my fishes my snail is a funny one, tumbling down from the highest plants, floating on water and then release some big bubbles and sink again ....quite active for a snail.

How long coudl they stay in their shell? I threw mine out thinking it was dead when it hadn't moved in two days, and the flesh on the inside was all shrunken.

well, i've not had snails but the shrunken flesh kind of sounds like a non-living snail..

well at the moment his been in this state for over 30 hours im guessing his died i will be checking later on cause im kinda busy this week my senior exams are starting 2morrow until next monday and the only time i have is when i feed Jimbo my male betta fish.

Thanks, Dave. I love that quote: 'shrunken flesh thing'. We should totally give that a scientific name, LOL.

Yeah, I reckon it was dead (at least Thijs agreed).
