| I think that Mike should be able to prevent someone from using the same email.

| Aside from that, he can block a particular IP, so people can't log in from the same household. However, they can go to their friend's house, or to the library, and register. |

That's why, you combine your idea and my idea and that should be great.

| Exactly. It works by IPs. Quote:

| Member bannings are not something discussed amongst the public side of the forum because it is an issue for the Moderators and Administrator. The only reason for any account being banned is for breaking the rules that everyone must click 'I agree' saying they agree and have read the ToS, or Terms of Service, agreement. |

Actually, it's no big secret or anything, if you don't follow the very simple rules you don't get to be a member. Goldfishcare was rude to other members and so we banned him. |

| Fishlore's a great community and there's not many rules to live by here - it's sad when someone can't handle that. |

| Ditto, Dave! I saw the guy but ignored it, they'll always be ppl like that i'm afraid.
But speaking about IPs...
I requested for access to a certain section in another forum, they came back to me saying that myself and, naming 3 other members, have the same IP address, asking if we used the comp, were they my user names etc. But anyway, i had nothing to do with them apart from the fact that one member was from the same city as myself (i dnt knw abt the others). How can this be? |

| I am guessing somehow the security software is picking up on the IP from the J'burgh router? I am curious about Mike's answer on this. It'll be a technical glitch somewhere. Quote:

| He could have used different IP addresses from the same house, my place has 3. (we have wireless and 2 different servers) or if he switched providers I think that might switch IP addresses. |

| Huh, that is odd. Out of curiosity, Sabi, what kind of internet access do you have? (Dialup, DSL, Cable, Satelite, etc...) |

| Fishlore has some simple rules; one is respect for another human being. it's sad if someone can't maintain these simple rules! here we always try to help each other, i learn something new from fishlore everyday, everybody is a newbie in this forum. | Thats correct. I'm curious to know how it can be?! I can say that my pal and i use the same internet service provider.
Thanks |

| Yes, it would, Sabi. I wonder if that's why it's coming up as multiple users having the same IP. If you have municipal wireless internet, each transmitter might be an IP (not sure how these things work precisely, I'm just making an educated guess) |

| If I recall correctly from a file sharing discussion I had with a friend some years ago, sometimes college (i.e. dorms) can transmit the same IP address for many of the people within the same dorm. So if we banned by IP only, then we could potentially exclude many people. Quote:

| Can you recreate this and email me a screen print (alt + print screen) via a word document or something? Maybe we can fix it. |
