| I got a job :) So I finally got a job. Reffing is over so I got hired today at a semi-local pizza place. I don't think many will have heard of it but it's Georgio's oven fresh pizza company, there in Ohio right now. I talked to the owner and gm of the store today and was hired. I start at minimum wage and move up from there. Now I can start saving up for some more "high-tech" equipment. I see some new changes for my tanks in the near future and money for college. Just thought I'd let you all know |

| Congrats on the new gig! You cooking, delivering or managing? I've done all three as a teenager at Metro Pizza, the delivery is the best option of the three, coz' of the tips. |

LOL ... if you work 8 hours a day (as I assume you do, or is it a part time position?), that's 2 pizza slices a day! So, if you work a 40 hour week (8 hours a day for 5 days), that's 10 slices of pizza a week! All of that cheese every day ... is really not healthy for anyone! I think I'd throw up eating pizza every day for a week, yuck! I eat pizza - on average - maybe once every 2 months. (Sometimes it's once a month, and sometimes once every 3 months. Not a big fan of pizza, I guess.)
P.S. I was talking about 10 slices of pizza ... unless you mean you get 1 WHOLE pizza per 4 hours! That's freaking 10 pizzas a week! LOL I can't imagine how anybody could eat that much pizza! |

| I think he meant a whole small pizza. I work at my in-laws pizza restaurant, and I get tons of free pizza. One free "shift meal" per day, plus, since I'm family, I eat a bit more than that. I know thats kind of gross on any level, but see the P.S.
And I'm still 6'0" and under 150 lbs.
P.S Pizza isn't that bad for you if its made with good ingredients. Corporate pizza chains like Pizza Hut use crappy ingredients, on the same level as McDonald's or Burger King, which are gross. But, a lot of places, like where I work, make the dough and sauce in house, along with using fresh ingredients...makes for a much better pizza. |

And it doesn't apply just to pizza. All foods made by large corporations are unhealthy. The larger the corporation, the unhealthier the food. |

| Jack ... lol, and how was your stomach during that time?
I don't think I'd be able to eat the same food all the time. I have to differentiate my foods. Don't like the same stuff every day. When I eat too much of one kind of food, it sort of starts to disgust me and I have to stop eating it alltogether. I will usually eat it again after a longer while. |

LOL I can't imagine how anybody could eat that much pizza! | I'll probably work 10-15hours a week during school weeks and more on off days. I get one small pizza per four hours and I can trade my pizza with employers of other stores by me if I don't want it and get chipotle, ice cream, donuts, or bagels....yum I eat pizza usually once a week, I'm a big fan of pizza Quote:

I agree with you, pizza isn't bad when you get the smaller stores or make your own pizza, and pizza hut pizza doesn't even taste that good. Quote:

PS i did feel quite siick by the end of it but it was good fun | That sounds like fun, when we went to a running camp over the summer we got boxes of a sport drink and drank almost a box a day (12x16oz. pacakages) though we were running a lot I don't think it was good for us, sounds kinda like yours |

Tom | Ya I'm still reffing but that's only during the spring and fall and I needed a source of income between the two and now I've found it. Maybe when I can learn to make that pizza I'll send one to you free of charge, you can pay for shipping and heat packs though. Quote:

I'm a pizza fan too. I think i'l have one for supper... | O I already eat a lot of pizza, I don't think I could get tired of it unless I ate it more than once a day, though pizza for breakfast, that's good Quote:

I start this saturday for three hours, the owner wanted to train me herself and that's when she works and I'm not in school. |

I worked three hours last week and have eight hours this week. Basically I take phone orders and make pizza's mainly and a few other things if they ever get ordered, but the store mostly sells pizza's. What they do is sell large pepperoni and cheese pizzas at a discounted price and call them fresh-n-ready pizza's and you walk in a buy them for 5$, no calling in or waiting. They sell so many at the discounted price they make a profit. Quote:

| Its not hard to make a profit off pizza, really. The ingredients are so cheap when you buy in bulk, its ridiculous. For 81 pounds of dough, its pretty much a cup of sugar, a cup of salt, some wet yeast, a bit of "agnus"(pre-made highly active yeast culture...pretty similar to what you get in DIY co2), oil and 2 large bags of flour.
The difficult part is making a profit while paying employees |

The hard part is finding employees worth paying.... that won't rob you blind or steal your recipes and go start their own shop up to compete against you in the district you taught them. |
