Tiny white worms?

Hello all, is it normal to have worms in your tank? Ok i'll explain a little better.I was cleaning glass near substrate with Mag-Float and disturbed gravel and the dirt and waste n stuff came up into water and i noticed tiny white worm like things floating n wiggling in water sum were longer than others and there must be loads in tank considering the small area i disturbed. What are they? Are they harmful? The fish seem to like them they ate them all!

They are more than likely planaria.

If you saw a lot, it would probably be a good idea for you to cut back onthe amount you feed your fish.

They will not harm your fish. but are a sign that there is too much food in the tank.

Cheers dino,i just googled planaria now im alot more informed i done my water tests earlier today so i know ammonia is ok,but i lost a few fish and probably haven't decreased how much i feed them. Due a water change on friday so will make sure i give the gravel a good clean.

Hi Leo, i freaked out the first time i saw them in one of my tanks and i too posted on here! So you ok with them now? I have a feamale betta that never seems to eat and i'm sure they MUST be her food source ( or the mini snails but i think the worms) I saw one of my other bettas chasing and eating one so as Chickadee said when i freak it can be extra food.
