Where do YOU shop?

I would like to start getting familiarized with some fishy sites. Where do you shop on-line for your fishy needs? Post sites that you keep going back to because of the service and quality of product you have received whether it be tanks, filters, mixes, food, fish, plant and everything in between. Possibly include info as to why, suggestions, discounts, what to look for as well as what to watch out for. This is meant to be informative and not a slamming on any particular site.

I shop at stores. lol Most of the US sites won't ship to Canada or the shipping cost will kill me financially.

Although there is a section for LFS's, and I would preffer they be kept there, maybe mention your favorite in case anyone in the area doesn't know about it.

For me, there is just too big of a list of local breeders. I think that there are also so many cichlid breeders here.

DrsFosterSmith.com and liveaquaria.com
The first is for supplies, the second for stuff to stock a tank with.
I've done posts on them before. I think they can be found in the "review" section

Audrey, that's why I started this thread, in hopes of helping, not only myself, but, anyone who can use the info on which on-line shops are good. As for your pacus, I can only hope that you will keep future fish size in mind when choosing your fish so you won't have to put any of them down again in the future. Remember, fish are friends, not food!

Dino.
Seriously, check with Dino. Your window is growing short, because he won't sell once it's cold enough to freeze outside, but if you check out his thread called "Available" you can see a sampling of what he's got. Or you can just PM him and ask him what he's got in the way of small, hardy fish.
The prices are right, and he's watching out for his customer and the fish rather than his own wallet.

In the "Reviews" section, there is an entire area of reviews of commercial websites. It's there for precisely this reason.

I didn't realize this thread had already been done. Still, I'm thankful for everyone who has already participated in it and to anyone who would like to do so as well.

Thank you all!

The thread actually hadn't been done before. I just wanted to point you in the direction of the reviews section, which will have more information than what's posted here (not to mention might have information from people who no longer frequent the forum).
Aside from that, I'm too lazy to re-post my review of Drs Foster and Smith.

If I have to order anything I usually shop on www.Drsfostersmith.com and I just started shopping on www.Petmountain.com. I found fishprotector on that site and I also buy my dogs laundry detergent on there. I know I know you're probably wondering why I buy pet laundry detergent. Living in an upper condo my dogs are potty trained to go in a litter box and I bought them 2 washable potty pads that they go on. I used to just use my detergent, but I have to wash our clothes in unscented non-dyed detergent because one of the kids I watch is allergic to the scented and dyed detergents. And the dogs pads still reek of pee, so I buy them their own detergent that's scented. Anyway, not that you really needed to know all of that, but I'm sure you probably would've asked anyway, so I decided to tell you.

I've also shopped on www.carealotpets.com. I usually just buy things for my dogs on there if I find that they are cheaper then DFS. They have fish items on there, but I haven't bought any fish stuff on there. They don't have to much to choose from and that's why. I thought I'd give it to you anyway just incase you'd want to check it out. natalie
