The apple tree
Long ago there was a huge apple tree. A little boy loved to play under it. He loved to climb the tree, loved to eat apples and loved to take nap under its shadow. Time went on, the boy grew up and he no longer played around the tree. One day the boy came back. The tree said, “Hi come and play with me.” The boy replied, “I’m not a kid anymore, I don’t play around trees, I play with toys I need money to buy some toys.” The tree said, “I don’t have money but u can take all my apples and sell them, u will get the money.” The boy picked all the apples and sold it and got lots of money and bought some toys and never turned back, the tree was sad again. One day the boy came back again, he was a young man this time. The tree said, “Hi why r u so sad? Come and sit under my shadow, I feel lonely without u.” the boy replied, “I don’t have time I need to build a home for my family I need money.” The tree said, “I don’t have money but u can take my branches and trunk and build a home.” The boy cut the whole tree and only the root remained. The boy built a home for his family. Again the root of the tree became lonely, the boy never returned, time passed on. One day the boy came back, he was so old, looking sad… ..., tired…, lonely…The tree asked him, “why r u sad, I wish I could help u but I don’t have apples, no branches , no shadow, I have nothing to offer u.” the boy (old man) replied, “I’m old, tired and lonely, I don’t need anything, can I just sit at your root?” the tree said, “off course u can.”
Is the boy cruel and selfish? Aren’t we all like him and treat our parents like him? The tree is like our parents, we like to play with them when we r kids, when we grow up we leave them and come back when we r in trouble. We don’t have time for our parents, no matter what, parents will always give everything to help us and make us happy and in return they only want our company! Please love your parents, don’t forget them, don’t forget what they’ve done for u, give them your company; they will be happy by seeing u happy.
Send this message to as many as u can and pay regards to your parents.
This message was written by my late friend Nicholas, he died on this day in 2005 in a car crash; he was 21. Nicholas was a good writer and cartoonist; he used to write for a local newspaper. His death was a terrible shock for me and my friends. He was a good man and a good friend; he was like a brother to me. Nicholas, no matter how far u r, we will always remember u, we will never forget u, and we hope that almighty God has granted u eternal peace in the Heavens; Rest in Peace brother………….
