Hey everyone

A while ago, some of the Fish Lore members (including myself) would meet from time to time on MSN and chat. We liked it very much, but it sort of "died out" over time as old members would go away and new ones were arriving unaware of the chat.

I personally don't chat online a lot, but I like the idea of a Fish Lore chat from time to time It's nice being able to talk to Fish Lore members live - it's fun.

Anybody wants to join? My MSN e-mail is Isabella.NY@hotmail.com so if you have MSN messenger, you just add my name to your list and we can chat (as I have my setting set so that my name is visible only to people I have on my MSN list). You don't necessarily need me for the chat, lol. It can be simply based on "whoever is online and available at the moment". As long as people have their names added to their MSN messenger lists, they can join and chat in one window. If you don't have MSN messenger, it's free and easy to download.

If you don't like that idea, please ignore the thread lol. If you like it, see you sometime on Fish Lore chat Everyone is welcome, of course!

Yes, I just got a notification from MSN that some "Dave" was sneaking up to my MSN account. But I've allowed him.

It sounds like a great idea Isabella... too bad there wasn't some way to incorporate it into the fishlore site itself. But I know nothing of the software end of making sites or adding chats to it. Like if we went to a sticky post that said... Instant messaging... that would be great. I used to have MSN but use yahoo instant messaging when I do, which is hardly ever anymore.

I don't normally use MSN either (I have a separate e-mail account from another provider). I've created MSN account a while ago for fish-lorean purposes, lol So I provide this e-mail in my Fish Lore profile, and for the Fish Lore chat if anybody from Fish Lore wants to chat on MSN.

I have yahoo messenger. If you want to join on yahoo messenger my ym is natalie_wierman2006. Dave and I chatt all the time.I used to chatt with Stevie (inuyasha_lover) all the time when he was on, but he I believe got rid of his computer or it's broken or something. I haven't talked with him in a while. I have to admit it is fun getting to know people on here on a more personal level. So if you want to join Yahoo messenger look me up. OK, guys, if you prefer Yahoo, that's fine with me I just signed up with Yahoo Messenger. Only there's a little "problem". I don't know if this is how it's supposed to be, or my Yahoo Messenger is screwed up, lol.

Listen to this: When I open my Yahoo Messenger window, and click on various options (i.e. Messenger, Contacts, Actions, Help), the menus pop up completely black with nothing on them! The options on the black menu are "invisible" - only when I scroll down the menus, do white-lettered options appear (i.e. My Status, My Account Info, My Profiles, etc ...). Is that how this messenger is supposed to be? If yes, can you change this stupid (oops, sorry) black invisible setting? Why is it like that?

That's so weird, lol.

What would be fantastic is a IRC #fishlore channel. As it would be a very open based channel that multiple user could sit and chat on and ask questions real time. And even though there are progs like mIRC etc you could even have java based ones that loaded right from a link in the forums, or firefox based clients like chatzilla.

Then people could sit and idle in there while they were browsing forums, and check back for chats or questions etc.

OK, my Yahoo messenger works normally now. I don't know what it was with the "invisible" menus, lol. Never mind. My Yahoo is IsabellaNY82 (IsabellaNY82@yahoo.com) and my MSN is Isabella.NY@hotmail.com. Whichever one you people prefer, either Yahoo or MSN

Thanks, this should be interesting, LOL, I will be putting my own interpretation to short forms, who knows what I will come up with. I do know IMO; BTW;and a few others, so if my input is "Huh?" a lot of times, please be patient.

A sugestion, Isabella could you go through this post and delete the conversations or have armadillo do it and just leave the msn and other names, then it would be easier to add them.

here's a plan..... whoever is going to start the chat, send an email out to all parties one hour before starting. This can be done through either Yahoo or MSN directly. Those that can will, those that can't, that's life!

The only potential problem with this idea is do you all check your email boxes for MSN or Yahoo often?...lol
