Last night i went to say goodnight to Honey and Spot ( Bettas for those who don't read betta bits) and there was Spot chasing a very fine wriggling worm!! He doesn't have a tank with a light sadly but after my first shock i noticed many worms in there and i freaked!!! I did a big hoover/ water change as the pc booted up. Got online and Fishlore forum was down. Well i was in a panic as Spot ate one of them.

after reading it i calmed down. I read other sites about Planaria too. It's not an issue that comes up so how many of us know what happens in our tanks after dark!!??

They won't hurt the fish if they eat them and they won't attach to the fish in any way. But they are a sign you may be feeding a little much or it's time to deep vacuum they will over populate if theres food in the substrate.

i did a HUGE spring clean of his tank and was amazed at the amount of rubbish at the bottom as i only got him a few weeks ago plus i watch him eat the pellets!!



At least i know they won't harm.....but they are dooomed if he eats them!!

It's surprising what comes out of the substrate. Remember what goes in will come out
they will just be live protein for him.

well he was having a ball as i screamed NNNNOOOOOOOOO. He loved the chase, sort of hang on mum back in a min, that one looks juicy

Even the cleanest of tanks can have a few and they do give the bettas something to play with. Will we ever get them to stop playing with their food? Probably not but considering how finicky they can be, maybe we should be thankful for the fact that they will eat them.

I can imagine the feeling. They do look intimidating when you don't know what they are and here they are falling and swimming about like snowflakes that have been stretched out.

lol.. a while back we found a few of them in teddy bear's tank and disposed of them. No sign of them until the last cleaning when i noticed dozens. i cleaned everything good, gave him 100% water change and we'll see if anymore show up.

Spot loves the worms at least he is happy!!
