That's the spirit! Glad you like them too! Following the advice of Gunnie and Butterfly, I located a local/nearby aquarium society. It turns out that Cincinnati has a huge one. They have their own website that has a forum similar to this one. I found an old post by a member selling Multi's for $3 a piece. I contacted him and said I wanted 6, and he gave me two extra for free. You can search online and buy them too, but they will cost a lot more. where do you live city/state, and I'll see if I can't locate something for you. If I ask my local guys, I'll bet they'll know a source near you too! Good Luck!

thanks dahly. I live in Indianapolis Indiana. I'm not sure if i am getting any multis. I have 3 tanks in my little room. but hey, i can always get another, that is if my mom lets me talk to ya later,

The smallest cichlid there is are called Multi's or "many banded" or Neolamprologus multifasciatus.

I would start by trying to find a local fish club or aquariam society. I will envy you if you find one. I am a member of 2 clubs, but the closest one I belong to is 5 hours away! Here's a link to get you started:

Also try by searching using Aquarium Club or Aquarium societies as the keywords on google or whatever search engine you use. There are other sites out there that may have more clubs listed.
Once you have checked out the local clubs, I would join them, and get to know the other members. So far, everyone I've met in my clubs are great folks and they are more than willing to share stuff they have or sell stuff to you at a much better price than buying from a store. I will keep my eyes open for you, and give you leads to any I see for sale. There is also a specialty site which folks post mainly about all the shelldwellers, not just the multies. Their classified section might be a good place to look also:

Joe, Indy is not far at all from Cincinnati, 90 miles, tops. If you can't find a local hobbyest/dealer for multi's, there are many in the Greater Cincinnati area. Check out www.gcas.org and you will see that there are plenty of multi owners, with babies all the time. When mine eventually spawn, I'd be happy to share some with you. If your mother ok's a new tank, and you're interested, just let me know and I can help round some up for you. $3 a piece, or less!

Bio Spira. I used it to immediately cycle my tank for my multis. I can get the 1oz freshwater (good for 30 gallons) for $10 and change. No 6 week wait and no stressed or dead fish!
