Glow in the dark Fish

Has any one heard about the fish they are genetically altering to glow in the dark by injecting the eggs with jelly fish DNA? I only saw this brief blurb while flipping through channels. I guess they also sterilize the fish because they aren't really sure what would happen down the road. Just wondering what people thought!

yea, i think there was a thread on them a few months back. i think we're infants playing with dynamite as far as genetic engineering goes.

Yeah one of the lfs here has them. Their much brighter than the original Glofish were. there were yellow ones and pinkish red ones, looked kind of like yellow or red popsicles swimming around.
they are not sterile and are suppose to breed true.

Wow, they aren't sterile. The segment I watched said that scientists sterilized the fish because they didn't know what the jelly fish DNA would do down the road. That is a little scary!

The website state the fluorescent does not have to be added to each batch of eggs that its color is passed on from parent to fry so I guess that means their not sterile
