Well Hello all of you out there in aquarium land! I have been gone for a long time. The site looks great. Lots has been going on in my life so I am sure to be in and out. I got some great new fish-- and unfortunately Spike went to water heaven.
But, I am back now and can't wait to see whats been going on while I was gone. You will probably see me on the betta board!

Well, I haven't gotten any more bettas yet..... but as it turns out there is a betta breeder very close to my new home.... so I will have to get another tank. But the good news is that my parents have 2 10 gallon tanks, and a 20 gallon unused in their basement. I am going to have to go over there and steel them!!!! yay!!! more waterbabies!

lol.. you've got as many splendens as we do. Being able to get thai bettas pretty much right off the plane sure makes it tempting to get more. especially if we get things setup for proper splendens breeding. Angel & Mickey could both be bred and throw some incredible offspring with the right mates. we've talked to the pres. of the local IBC chapter there.. i want to bred bettas more. the mahachai spawn has unfortunately been a learning experience with so little info available to us, but i'm certain of a MUCH better 2nd spawn and really want to do a little splendens breeding along with some L046 zebra plecos.

i've been looking into it and i think i should be able to find some good breeding stock in Denver. It'll be a pricey risk, but the L046 needs a greater population, we love how beautiful they are and if we can sell some of the offspring, we could make a good bit of money.. what i'd like to do with the first spawn is to trade babies for other L046s and get 3 or 4 breeding pairs, then we could sell/trade pairs to breed and develop stronger bloodlines. we'll see.. it's a fish dream, but i hope we'll get to do it.. like the mahachai we can make some money sure, but i enjoy breeding fish and especially fish that need help with establishing strong captive populations and the L046 falls into that category.

They are so hard to find and usually start at like $200. That is starting.... You really could make a lot of $$ Cha-Ching.

yea.. i've looked up aquarium clubs in denver and i'll try to find a couple of good breeders that i can get L046 young from.

I wish I had the time to get into breeding. I think it would be so cool. But my friends already make fun because, and I quote "you know how fish do it". They called your spawning video fish porn. Yeah, but if I had the $$ and time and space-- I would have a fish room/ warehouse just for breeding.
