Ok, I just because a Hero member and was wondering how, and when to use some of these buttons! Here are the buttons that I don't know when or how to work.

and
split topic

I know what the sticky is, it puts a post at the top of the forum and it doesn't move, but when do I use it?

it's for the REALLY important posts that need to stay at the top of the list. I've set a sticky to a grand total of 1 thread - the recent one listing recalled fish foods, so it's a button that's rarely used.

Butterfly

Send this topic button is for when you want to e-mail that topic to someone.
Split topic is when the subject of the thread has varied so much that a second thread needs to be made.

Split and sticky isn't used much, usually by mods but can be used by the rest of the members.
