one day when i was 6 i felll out of a bus. ya. ouch. all i remember is that my head hurt and when i looked in the mirror my forehead was blue.

before that, i was unreasonably paranoid and whenever my mom and her friends stared laughing at something "cute" i had done, i'd break down and start pummeling my mom (which didn't do anything except make them laugh louder) and having a fit for her to stop. after the bus thing, i wasn't paranoid anymore. i know its impossible for one bump ( a HUUUUGE bump, its a wonder i didnt crack my head open) to do that, but still..... anyone would wonder,....

oh yeah, and everytime i hear loud noises (i.e. hairdryers, earphones, loud music) in my left ear an unbearable tickly feeling comes over my spine. wierd, huh? does that happen to anyone else? if anyone has heard of this or has it, plz tell me so that i know im not a Martian or something. sorry, im desperate.

I get that feeling from fingernails on a chalkboard... And if something loud surprises me I get a shock, but it doesn't last that long.

You're not a martian The noises probably "hit a nerve" in your brain, which causes a tingling. I'm not an expert in these types of things, but I hope this helps

I have that exact same feeling when coins or any kind of metal is rubbed together. It's the most awful sound to me.

Maybe everyone reacts this way to different kinds of sounds?

Or maybe we're just aliens, too!

for me its any sound, so long as it's made close to my ear. i always listen to music with only the right earphone 'cause of this. its kinda hard with headphones, though. i have to wear them with the left one hanging off and against my cheek instead of my ear. talk about annoying. lol

btw, thx all of u!!!!! i feel a bit less like a freak! (hmmm.... maybe ALL of that old paranoia didn't dissapear....)

Chances are that when you fell off of the bus, the bus goblins switched the old you with a different you. That would explain the changes.

Everybody has different weird "buttons." Mine is the sound of people chewing with their mouths open or very loud bass (low-pitch sounds, not the fish). These both make me anxious The sound of fingernails on an emery board or the feel of sandpaper or anything like it will send the shivery feeling up my spine (even thinking about it does it... like right now), but, oddly, the sound of fingernails on a chalkboard doesn't.

fingernails on a chalkboard doesn't bother me either. However, scrape a plastic bowl with a metal spoon and I get goosebumps on top of goosebumps... great, now I have goosebumps!

im trying to overcome it littl by little - i keep listening to music in the left ear for short periods of time until i cant stand it anymore. get ting better all the time~
