That's a great idea Tony! I hate vacuuming the leftover food off the bottom of my fry tank. Now I just need to buy a turkey baster, lol

I've never used a turkey baster and I am a lesbian mother AND raiser of fry!

I use the gravel vac to catch the lil' buggers...my partner catches them in the vac and then slowly releases the water and fry into my waiting net. We've had to get REALLY good at it because we use a python and its hooked up to the sink!

I also have mad skills when it comes to the use of a net...but only with molly fry in my 30g tank, can't do it in the bigger tank...which is why that is now a male tank!

I need some happy thoughts from everyone, please. Tomorrow (if she hasn't eaten them yet), it's "The Catching of the Fry" in Karma's tank. They were born Sunday I think. They should be free swimming by then, right?

First squeeze the air out of it. Then put it in the water just above the fry and let go and the fry will get sucked into it.

Turkey basters are great....mine just sprouted legs and left my house or is with the runaway nets hiding out. I also use a kids medicine dropper that you can get at wallyworld...takes a while but it works too. Both are great for removing leftover food and catching fry.
