| How do I get myself into this kinda stuff? I get into more messes than I care to admit sometimes and I am the biggest klutz on earth just ask anybody in my family.
My day started out as usual coffee, try to wake up, and go down the hall to my office to work. Well I have a bad, really bad habit of bouncing in and out of Fish Lore cause I might just miss something if I don't stay in here a lot....you know something good like the dang "white bucket". I get a PM hee hee and I answer the PM hee hee again. Then there is a thread about breather bags for sale...I want them PM sent...get PM back and send money by paypal. Then I get another PM and I am already having a really hard time working so I am just typing faster and faster to play catch up. So after this PM I am just tickled pink....yes BB this is somehow your fault!!! Two of my fishy friends are going to come and visit on Sunday and I am going to send her home with some babies. You all know how some of our "so called regular friends" look at us sometimes when we mention the 19hundredth tank or fish. Well by the time I am done working and I call my fishy friend and we have most of the details worked out I am just soooo happy I have excess energy and I decide to make some of "Barb's pumpkin snail cookies" and make some more of the calcium blocks. No problem on the calcium blocks made those before not a big deal. Now we come to the snail cookies....whole nother ball game here. I have the ingredients and I have had for about two weeks now but have just not bothered to make them. I really don't have a problem with any of the ingredients but when you mix them altogether hummm that is a bit of a different story. EWWWWW As I am trying to put the cookies on the baking sheet I keep having to look away and distract myself so I won't be sick. And yes it is baking in my oven right now!!! This is supposed to be really good for you snaily/fishy/shrimpy and yes even doggie friends but there is something about the texture and color of this that is just trying to kill me. Put it this way my critters better really love um cause I don't think I will be able to ever make them again. You can find the recipe on the applesnail website if you dare.
BB wanna cookie? |

| Well dang....everybody loves it. Snails have completely covered it you can't even see the cookie anymore just a pile of snails, I think they actually ran to get to it. The shrimp attacked right away. The ABNs are stuck to it like glue and all the fish like it too. The funniest part...my dogs almost took my fingers off trying to get the cookies, they loved them and just scarfed them down like they were starving. Glad it made a bunch so maybe I won't have to do that too often but it does look like I am going to be making this again. I have to say the smell baking was not as bad as I thought it was going to be it was just the texture and color that just about got the best of me. |

Carol | I have gotten a lot of good recipes there...well the critters like them anyway. If I am not mistaken in that recipe it says when you put the rice in the food processor or blender to make sure the lid is on good....they mean it. You would be suprized how far rice can go across a room when shot out by a blender and all I did was open that little thingy on top to chunk in some more rice man that stuff was everywhere!!!! So you have been warned by me and the recipe too!!!
Oh and for once I did not want to lick my fingers while baking . For all of you who bake you know what I mean like a little cake batter or cookie dough....nope never had the urge with that cookie recipe. And yes I do wash my hands before baking and during if I lick my fingers LOL and boy did I wash them after I got through rolling that stuff into little balls and smushing them into cookies!!! |

Ken we were typing at the same time | LOL You know I actually saw somewhere that somebody was making and selling these cookies. Now I know why people were buying them instead of making them too!!! It did make a bunch I had to do two rounds in the oven there were so many. The next time I HAVE to do them I will either double or triple the recipe because still to this moment when I think about them my stomach does flip-flops and I do not have a weak stomach by any means!!! If the next batch goes well I might consider it we'll just have to wait and see. |

Ken | You want snails do ya....what color do you like....I have an assortment of colors of "mystery" snails and many many many babies. Check my photobucket page. As I type right now on top of this ancient monitor that I have there are three of "my incubaters" full of mystery snail eggs in various stages....with only 100-200 maybe more per clutch. I think I can spare a few . Carol has some, Cesch has some, Beth should have hers today, and I betcha PlecoPrincess goes home with some Sunday although BB probably won't like that too much
I have a brand new 21 inch flat screen monitor but cannot get rid of this dinosaur (takes of half of my desk) because I don't have anywhere else that is the perfect temp for hatching the babies!!! |

Hee hee no I just open a page for work and a page for FishLore.
