I take Abigail for a baldy once a month in the summer. They shave her down to where it's only like a 1/2 inch, but leave the ears kindof fluffy.

She hates getting her "haircut", all I have to say is .... "haircut" and she KNOWS !!!! But when's she's all done, she loves how it feels. Plus she looks like a little hotdog, with her round tummy, and little tiny arms and legs. I can't keep my hands off of her when she's first done....soooooo cute !!!!

Tony you'll have to post a pic of daisy after her cut.

She's not really a heavy barker. She will bark at the mail man and anyone walking there dogs on the sidewalk next to our lawn but that's about it. She also doesn't like smaller dogs. But she's fine with larger dogs like shepards and bulldogs. It blows my mind . Shes fine with my cat though.

I had a jack russel terrier, they are the cutest things. His name was jack. He was a little puppy that loved to chase cars and chew threw his collars and leashes. He died near his first birthday. He chewed though his leash and chased my dads car onto the highway. He ran into the oncoming traffic and got hit.... I cried for days. I will upload some pics later

Is it actually the hair itself or is it the dander? My sister had two cats and her son was allergic - they were going to have to either get rid of the cats or shave them. Instead, she started bathing the cats once a week. No more problems with allergies. It might be worth a shot...especially since dogs with "haircuts" can develop skin problems or get sunburned. It also messes with their normal body temperature control since the fur both keeps them warm in winter and helps to keep them cool in the summer. Personally, I just think it makes them look funny - at least the ones that I have seen looked funny.

well i dont really know if im allergic to her hair or the dander. Im thinking its her hair though because of the sudden weather changes we get here. Last week it was raining and this weeks its so dry, so it makes her shed alot. I will try bathing her.

With most people, it is the dander. It would be cheaper to be able to wash it away rather than having to take her to be groomed/trimmed. You could even try using a "sensitive skin" or oatmeal shampoo, that might help too.

Beautiful dogs you got there mjordan (those dogs never grow up!), 10gallonmadness, Tony G (what a beauty!) and joy1125 (cute little thing!). Congrats on Iggy Russ G.

My juvenile Pug (for the record he's Camila's dog) enjoys being around me during maintenance and he respects all my tanks (at least I have no observations or evidence to the contrary) but if I drop some leaves to the floor (when trimming the plants) he grabs them and runs away. I suspect he actually likes eating them...

My pup doesn't like to get her feet wet (unless it's on her terms) so as soon as the hose come out, she stays away.

Everyone has such lovely doggie-friends. I'd post a pic of my beautiful girl but did so only recently on a snoring dog thread - bb's too if I remember correctly. I think we're all very blessed to have our dogs, they're special animals.
