| Heart attack anyone? I have had Loaches of all kinds for many years and I know how they act, but my big boy clown Loach did it to me this morning. He's such a bad boy

| I've seen loaches do that before but they usually get up and swim around when disturbed. The Dojos kept aggravating him and he never moved so I was devastated. I put my hand in the cave and nudged him and he shot out of there and back where I was at and just did the loachy dance. He knows that hand usually has food in it but I didn't give him any treats. My heart is still pounding.
Ken- he's probably 5 inches from nose to the end of his tail but he sure is a hefty fella or girl You can tell he eats well. When he lays out like that he looks like a slab of salmon. He's also the leader of the pack.
I told him everybody sent him scoldings and he doesn't look ashamed at all LOL

Is that material you're using for the back ground? | Lucy that is a plastic tank cover I found at Petsmart. Light comes in the door behind it and looks really cool in the early morning.
Yep java man got a haircut If I don't everybody sleeps in it and strings it everywhere LOL Quote:

There are 7 or 8 different anubias in that tank. They are really tough and can handle the clowns rough housing Quote:

| no he was probably just tired, you need to give him a cold water change to help wake him up, or push your cat into the tank |

| His colors were fine, not faded out; that's the easiest way to tell whether they're playing possum or actually dead.
At least you get to see your loaches. My group of kubotai stay under cover among the driftwood, hardly even show themselves for food. The L204's sharing their tank and the single Synodontis lucipinnis that was moved from another 55 (barbels and fins stubby, not sure what happened there) to heal up are more visible. When I moved them into the 55 with a couple of hob's they were all playing in the outflow from one at first. I though "cool, I'll see them now..." but about a day later they were back to their old game of no-see-us. If I didn't strip down the tank occaisonally for cleaning I wouldn't even know they were all still alive. |

| hmm..I'm going to have to get me some of those. They are beautiful. I managed to kill every last Jungle val i had..lol..Good thing I got a good deal on them.
All the java ferns and anibus and everything else is doing great but not the vals. I've been looking for a lower light easier big plant to grow for the back drop.
On plantgeek it says you have to acclimate them to be fully aquatic. How do you do that?
Sorry to hijack your thread I always seem to have a billion questions for you. |
