Sorry to hijack your thread I always seem to have a billion questions for you. | Hijack away Dino brought me my first one and it was growing emersed in a pot in fact looked just like the one in the pic. I put it in the tank with low light and as time went on it would lose a leaf and grow a new leaf until all the old leaves had fallen off and been replaced.
The other two I have were bought from the LFS but basically did the same thing. Many plants that are grown emersed have different leaves than their submerged leaves but these are the same.

The only ones that I have that like to play dead are the upside down catfish that I aquired with a tank off of craigslist and a pleco. Apparently I am not bright enough to use a net or a scraper to give them a little poke just gotta stick the whole arm in and poke them with my finger. Usually end up with water all over the floor, me on the other side of the room, saying a few things I should not be saying.
I am so so sorry that had to happen to you Carol it's really kinda painful even if it is funny later. The bad thing about it is they will do it to us again and we will fall for it again and have the scared out of us all over again! Fish do have a sense of humor, can you imagine the giggles in the tank as they see us just about kill ourselves getting away. |

| Thanks Ken
The Clowns don't scare me usually(they've never hurt me) but it is startling to have him go from sleeping to staring in my face. You could almost see smoke coming out of his ears because I disturbed his rest LOL

| Carol that tank is very very pretty. Can you get a closer pic of those plants you know we don't ask much hee hee. I do have to say that clown lived up to his/her name that time. I feel your pain the bad thing is I know they will get us again...no doubt about it!
Tony once the heartbeat slows down and you figure out how to breathe again you look around the room and hope nobody saw you. You are completely across the room from the tank thanks to a fish playing dead. Then you can laugh at yourself. Oh I can't wait till it happens to you ROFL. Nah I won't send Megan after you for that she'd be laughing to hard to do anything anyway. You are a nut Tony...glad to have you as a friend on here.
Oh and I'm not putting a name on this one but I bet you have said those words too when they scared the outta you. I don't know where they come from but I can definitely think of a bunch when I get scared like that. |

You'll note that it says that plant is A. gracilis but it was mis-identified and is in truth A. gigantae
The tank has grown in a lot since then and everything has spread out especially the ferns on the piece of wood.

They have just gotten in the habit of eating from my hands. The other fish see them eating and throw caution to the wind and come for their food too LOL.
While their eating from my hands I get a good look at everyone to make sure there are no scrapes or scratches and that their in good health. I've always fed my fish from my hands they do get other foods too.
Scroll down in this post and see what the Dojos do
They do just like the clowns New DoJo Loaches
