Wow... I bet that hurt, that would really suck. I've had a few encounters with the power of fish myself lol... I was bitten by a Muskie one time, they have very large teeth by the way... and I have been 'speared' by catfish on several occaions, which is from the spines on the dorsal and side fins. Those wounds tend to get nasty from the catfish's slime coating going into your skin, definitely not much fun lol.

Ouch on both counts! I think the worst I've done is cut myself whilst preparing fillets.

I feel sorry for the kid in that story, but what are the odds? I mean, you're just cruising along, having a grand old time, when some kamikaze fish jumps up and smacks the crackers out of you! I couldn't help but laugh.

Its actually pretty common, carp are definitely jumpers... I have a pretty tall boat so I've never had one jump in, but I've had them jump and whack the front or the side of the boat lol.

I did not know that! There are a lot of carp in the lake near my Dad's house up in Missouri, but I've never seen one jump.

Some of the commentators on the story were talking about ways to get these alien fish out of that lake. One wag suggested cruising around in a boat with nets in the air! <laugh>
