| Aquarium dropped & broke A few days ago, I visited an aquarium store somewhere near my house and was choosing what fish to buy. Then, I saw a man staring at a beautiful betta in the shelf in a small 10g tank i think. The man chose the fish and decided to buy the tank AND the betta.
He carried the tank with his own two hands (the tank had no handle, it was only a glass tank with no cover), lifted it from the shelf and his hands slipped and he dropped the tank with the betta in it! AHH!! HE DROPPED THE WHOLE TANK!
When I heard the loud crash, i felt like there was an earthquake happening! The tank broke into pieces and the water was everywhere on the floor. The betta was jumping everywhere, the man tried using his hand to grab the betta but always missed. I was shocked and couldn't do anything. The shopkeeper then rushed and caught the betta with a net.
(sorry if it's a long story)
The man's hand was bleeding because of trying to catch the betta, he got his hands cut by the glass. The man still had to pay for the tank and the betta. The betta was OK and still healthy (THANK GOD!). I then bought the fish i needed and went home.
I don't know whether it's funny but it was kinda dumb for the man to carry the tank by himself. |

Also I am sorry to hear about your dog, Peacemaker92, what happened? | She ran out of my house that day and came back looking sick. At that time, I wasn't at home. My mom saw her so sick, she knew she was already poisoned. So she gave her water to drink and then went out to send my little sister for ballet. Then came back an hour later and found her motionless in my small garden... |

I don't need 10g of water on the floor! Last edited by Steve113; August 6th, 2008 at 07:17 AM.

| hehe yeah - I've had a few near misses - 10g is 3 of those buckets - My carpet would be ruined.
Although a nice excuse for that wooden flooring I've been looking at...

| Every now and then I get the sudden realisation of how screwwed I'd be if my 55 cracked!
hehe the whole place would be ruined! It's just not good to think about things like this! But I'd DEFINATELY get my new wooden flooring then! |

| Won't water ruin your wooden flooring? Why don't you get tiles or cement flooring? |

| This is why we need to have signs that say never pick up a tank with water in it, and why the directions that come with the tank say not to do it. If only people would stop to think before they do something! |

I disagree with the idea of smashing bettas period.
Regardless of the size of tank they're in - It's not very fair! :P |

| I am suprised the store wouldn't drain the tank down for him if they were going to sell it as is...poor guy I feel bad for him.
I once knocked over a full 5 gallon bucket of water on a carpet of a rented house...can we say carpet cleaner...lol. any dirt that is in the carpet gets flushed to the edge of the puddle so if you dont suck the water all out and then shampoo while it is still wet it will dry with a dirty line at the edge. |
