| Oh! you should have been there to see my face when i came home one day and my bf had moved the stuff on the apartment all over the place to "redecorate", including the tank... and he didnt drain it... I made him swear he would never do that again...
how in the world did he move a 28 gallon from the stand without draining it? |

| I once had a rented apartment on the second floor.
I had permission to have the 90 gallon tank, I asked before I moved in.
It was on a metal stand.
Well my tank developed a leak while I was at work.
Because the folks living below me would slam their front door and shake the floor in my apartment.
I had previously asked them not to slam the door because I was concerned about my tank shaking too much.
The front bottom silicone seam came loose from the glass.
When I walked in the door the whole tank was dry and my Oscar was laying on his side gasping for air. (his mouth was moving a lot)
There was a small wet area around the tank on the carpeting, a small towel dried it up easy.
The apartment below had water coming out of the ceiling light fixtures, and big "water balloons" hanging from their walls.
The water got between the walls and the paint, looked like a woman's brests hanging from the walls.
Their brand new laptop computer was fried.
Their wood furniture was a mess too (water stains)
They came up stairs and knocked on my door, very angry.
Told me to come see the damages I was needing to pay them for.
I went with them to see and told them " Gee, I asked you not to slam your door so much".
Last I heard was they completely lost their $1,200 deposit due to damages to their walls.
So I placed my tank out back on the porch, scraped out the bad silicone and laid in a new bead of clear silicone.
I let it sit for a month to cure then I moved the tank back inside.
I kept my oscar in a 50 gallon temporary tank I bought (cheap thin walled bare tank)
Well I built a nice wooden cabinet for the 90g and I sold the 50g with the metal stand.

Harry | Yikes! They learned a lesson: listen to people when they give you instructions like that! |

What do you think it was that she ate that made her poisoned? |

Actually, she wasn't poisoned. She was apparently hit by a car. Then died from internal bleeding I think. |

| Poor betta... they go through enough already!
I had to move my 10g once. It was constantly growing algae because it was right next to two windows exposed to direct sunlight. The tank looked awful! You could hardly see into the tank because of how much algae was on the glass. I tried cleaning it over and over again, but it grew so fast, there was no stopping it. I drained 50% of the water, and my dad moved it. He said his back was hurting afterwards. Even with half the water, it's still very heavy. Isn't it like 8 lbs. per gallon or something like that?

| I agree with all of you. My aquarium which is only 15 gallons, is nearly breaking my wooden shoe cupboard! If you could see it, you'd see the top of the cupboard bending! lol =D |

| you know what I said about "smashing bettas" I didn't write that. I swear someone has been on my profile. On a related subject I found a thread that I used to be able to get on but now I can't. It's like I've been banned from it for saying something bad. |
