Fishchick, in response to the question I think you're asking, if you read earlier in the thread, whoever signs in will see their own face. So yes, when you sign in, you'll see yourself. When Shawnie signed in, she saw herself. Check out the posts in Page 2 to see what I'm talking about.

That's the thing: he didn't cut and paste anything. The page is a script that only works if you're logged in to Facebook. Facebook stores cookies in your web browser in order to keep you logged in. The script responds to those cookies (as any other Facebook page would), but instead of silently acknowledging that it's you visiting the page, it just feeds your info back to you.

In other words, the only thing anyone can see is their own username, their own e-mail address, their own whatever they entered. Everyone logging on will see different info.

All it is, is something that shows each of our own info, so no personal info is given out. I would never post someones personal info unless I had the permission of Mike, that person, and the other mods. Even then, I probably wouldn't.

I agree, though maybe not in the way you mean.

One thing that people should take away from this is that your browser grants simple access to the info in nearly anything that you're logged into.

Not a huge deal at home, but in any public place (on a public network at school, coffee shop, library, etc...), if you're logged into a site, someone else can use tricks similar to what this script uses (but in a malicious way) to gain access to that site in your name.
If it's Facebook, big deal. The worst they could do would be to change info around and post messages in your name.
If it's your Paypal account or your bank, however, that could get really dangerous to you.

if you deleted your cookies would this trick still work? Is that what it's using? Just curious, I dont know anything about computers... I just scream and yell at them too get them to do what I need

The link is just an image. It's generated by passing information from the facebook cookie to badge.php at facebook. Variable names are passed to facebook, which calls up the information stored on their end. No information is ever sent over the connection.

Ok Tom.. you got my attention with that one!..lol.. previously I only saw the red X, so imagine my surprise seeing my pic there when I came into this post after setting up my Face Book account and joining the Fishlore network!.. anyways, it was great chatting with you real time and I was wondering is there anyway to get a Fishlore billboard/logo on my Face Book page that could serve as a link for me to come straight here from there?.. in the short time I've had my FB account, I've been able to get back in touch with close to a hundred old friends from all over, and I wouldn't mind advertising Fishlore to them everytime they check my page.. who knows, it could lead to several new members!
