Fart Tax...Couldn't Resist...
The country of Estonia (in Northern Europe below Finland) is believed to be the first country in the world to levy a fart tax! No kidding. Estonian authorities have slapped a flatulence tax on farmers to compensate the country for the methane gas produced by their cows. The so-called "fart tax" is to compensate for the greenhouse gases the cattle produce which can be as much as 350 liters of methane and 1,500 liters of carbon dioxide per cow, per day! The farmers say the whole thing stinks. (Ananova)
Sorry, the idiot in me appreciates a good fart joke, especially one with positive implications for the environment!
