No, unfortunately the eggs always turn white after about a day. I usually remove the eggs at that point. They laid a lot more eggs this time and they are pretty dark beige at the moment (24 hours). So I guess I'll wait and see!

I wish them tons of luck!!!!!
mine spawned a few weeks ago and mine never turned white so I thought I might have had a fertile male...but after time, and not even turning white, they never hatched

OMG - the other (lone) female BP just barged in and ate a bunch of the eggs... The pair were biting her the whole time but she just kept attacking the eggs (she even lost some scales) - it was like she went on a jealous rage! I have never seen her do that!

edit - I guess the pair was upset, because they just ate the remaining eggs

They're beautiful! And I love how protective daddy is against the camera lol.

That's terrible about that other girl and losing the eggs though!

Hello Grim. Beautiful Bloody Parrots and a great video! Thanks for sharing. When it comes to eggs and more Bloody Parrots in the tank besides the mating pair, I doubt that the eggs will last for long. I have the same problem. My eggs don't have a chance. I don't have just 1 more attacking the nest but 9 attacking as a pack. There is nothing the parents can do, as hard as they try.

Your tank is beautiful. How do the Bloody Parrots like the sand substrate?
Please keep us posted.

Would you mind if I moved your thread to the "Hybrid/Bloody Parrots" section of the forum? It's up to you Let me know.

Thanks ken - I never knew blood parrots were so ruthless. Mine seemed so friendly until recently! They love the sand and are constantly spitting it everywhere - I've started to love the sand as well because it makes cleaning so much easier. All the poo sits on top of the sand so its easy to syphon up. Plus my cories love to dig around as well.

Thanks for the tip on the sand! Usually my Bloody Parrots are as good as gold until there is a new addition or when eggs are in the tank. Everyone gets along fine even with new additions after 15 minutes. They are wonderfully odd creatures

The dad was not happy with you. Good tip on the sand, I have been wondering how my fish would like it too. Haha, those parrots love to spit whatever substrate you have in the tank. Mine constantly creates big holes, then when I wake up in the morning, he will be sleeping in the hole he created. I will have to get a picture next time!
