Your tank is looking good. That sucks about your filter having missing pieces. Someone probably needed some spare parts and bought it then returned what they didn't need.

I just drained my 75 and moved it to another room. Catching fish is fun huh?

You should get some live plants. I have not bought fake plants in a long time but if I remember correctly they were not cheap. Real plants grow and give you more plants for free. You should try some. Once you go live you'll never want to go back to the fake ones.

Well the problem I see with live plants to me is the lighting. And my landlords/parents already charge me for utilities which really bites. And also the plants I see around my pet stores (I only have petco and petsmart here so pick my poison) don't look so hot. But I guess I can try one out and give it a whirl. Maybe if my pleco and snail don't destroy it I can try more out.

Live plants are going to be difficult in a 75 with stock lighting. Many of the plants at the chain stores aren't even aquatic anyway. If you're looking to get into live plants, I'd suggest ordering online if a chain store is your only local option. A lot of people use shop lights from Lowe's/HD to bump up the light intensity without spending a ton, or you could upgrade to power compacts or HO T5s if it's in the budget. There are quite a few websites that would save you a ton of money over buying locally.
