Mean Dwarf Gourami

Here is Rami picking on the Balloon Mollies. He does this all the time. He doesn't seem to pick on the Tetras except he does like to swim slowly through them to bust up the school sometimes. With the mollies though he darts at them, chases them, nips at them. He's left marks on the black female whom he seems to dislike the most. Many times I see him sneaking up around a plant to get closer to a molly before he darts at them.

Is there anything I can do about this? I thought moving from the 35 gallon to 75 gallon would help, but it didn't.

The Rummynose Tetra crack me up swimming by around at 13/14 seconds in...

I have a DG in a 55 gal with big fish......he gets chased a little by my RTS. lol

I think the only way is to put him in his own tank. You don't need stressed fish from bein chased around. It can cause more problems. IMO

Good morning. Nice videos and beautiful fish. I don't know of any other way to stop the aggression either other than rehousing the DG or taking it back to the fish store if they accept returns. Hate you're having these issues.

He IS a little pot-stirrer, isn't he? Sorry he's giving you so much trouble, but he IS one good-looking fish.

*sigh* I know, he is so pretty. My husband wants me to take him back but I don't want to do that. We've had him since the beginning (March this year). We just set up this 75 last weekend and I'm not ready yet to set up another tank....although I'd like to set a QT tank at some point, could I keep in there?

IMO, yes if it's at least 10 gallons, but let's see what the other members have to say. I don't want to give you incorrect information.

Yeah, I believe its a minimum of 10 gallons to house a single DG.

Thanks for the info. I'd like to set up a 20g some day in the ... hopefully he won't get any worse before that time!
