Love display by Heros Severum

Hi this is a video of my apparently now paired-off Heros Severum "Goldie" (Gold Severum) and "Seve" (Green Severum). They practiced lip locking once or twice before, as they were younger (July 2008, at 3.5 and 5" respectively) but not ever since so... crossing fingers!

They are in a 145gal planted tank that takes a lot of effort to keep running. So far I feel it is worth the try. Out of five water orchids and water lettuce recently introduced (three or four weeks ago) they ate most of them, but ignored a couple that are adapting well.

The UV Sterilizer, which helps keeping white algae attached to the walls in check has been out of proper flow adjustment for a couple of weeks since I've been working with some DIY upgrades (increasing WPG in some areas of the tank) there and also I accidentally twist it out of optimal flow range (since December 2008) as working around the tank.

Hope you enjoy the videos without banging my head for keeping geographically dissimilar species together. Water parameters in that tank are reasonably within range for both South American Cichlids and Malawi Cichlids that I keep there (Oscars, Severums, Convicts and Kenyi) pH 7.2 (careful dose of Indian Almond Tree Leaves + Activated Charcoal), 8dGH, 5.5 DKH. I add vitamins (e.g. TetraCichlid) once a month unless the big guys are hatching fry, when I double that frequency.
