| So I tried another spawn with Scarlet and Spartacus.
... and yet again it failed  This time Scarlet was WAY TOO EXCITED to her claws into Spartacus! I have never seen a female so excited to get to the male!!! *she is such a flirt*
I did the usual. Put her in a long glass in the spawning tank so they can see each other and that the boy can start his nest.
But let me tell you the girl was ready to break through that glass to get to him!! she was soooo fat!!
any way... she could not wait for the boy to even start his nest... she started popping her eggs while still in the glass.
So I had a glass full of eggs - haha! | |

| Hi Je55*r, Spartacus is a halfmoon. He is the first and only one I've ever come across in a pet store... he absolutely blew my breath away... so I bought him ... I just could not resist!
My favorite one was Jacky - see the thread "Jacky died" - I just posted it yesterday. Unfortunately I lost the fellow on Sunday ... but like I said he was my absolute favorite! | |

| oh he did have a good life. i don't know what caused his death though. some times these things happen - they alive and well the one moment and the next they are gone. I'm still real sad about it, but I'll get over it eventually.... and perhaps I'll pass a pet shop and see one that takes my breath away (like Spartacus did) then I'll buy him - since I have an open tank now.
I have a blue one "Stumpy" that I got form a lady that did not look after him very well - he nearly died. I don't know what fin type he is yet cos he had severe fin rot and has a 'stumpy' tail now - LOL! As soon as his tail has grown out I'll be able to see what type he is.

| It's so nice of you to have taken in Stumpy, poor fellow. I wonder if his tail will ever grow out. In any case he's safe now. =)
Maybe Jacky died of old age? I'm not sure how long Bettas normally live.
Actually, I am about to get my mom a Betta for her office. If we had more space at home, we'd house him or her here. I'll be spending lots of time at her work helping to get him/her settled in. I'm excited--haven't had a Betta in the family since my childhood! | |

| Oh they are the best! You will see they each have their own personalities! Jacky was always in a bad mood and he would sulk when he does not get his way. Spartacus is a real laid back one... he just hangs around very shilled out. Stumpy is so friendly!! he is a real sweetie! he can't swim fast enough to greet you wen you walk past his tank. | |

| Yeah Lucy your 'god child' is doing real well the edges where it's growing back is see through - so strange - but I know the color comes back after a while. You must see him zipping around already! it's his favorite thing to do LOL!to think that i put the filter on every now and again to force him to lift his bum... now he wont stop swimming up and down - oh he is so sweet
