| The rocks in the first one look like a larger version of the little pebbles I have keeping the slope in the substrate in my 7.5gal! Very pretty. No live plants? |

| The rocks in the first tank are called mexican pebbles. They are really pretty. I've tried live plants but they all died on me |

My LFS claims it is because they look nicer and can be used to add a splash of colour to the silver dollar tank before it's eaten) that will stand low light. These include crypts, Hornwort, Anacharis, Anubias, Java fern, Java moss, Hygro and Water sprite. You also have to take them out of their bunches/pots.
I got my pebbles at the beach! Great for aquascaping and free. Just soak them for a while, boil them and scrub them off. |

| Hornwort won't die on you! get it! In my 29g tank the hornwort started off the height of the tank and 1.5 weeks late I went in for a trim and the hornwort was TWICE the size! it was AWESOME! so i just spread the love to the other tanks. I have some of it weighted down an some just floating, about 11ish hours a day of light |

| Beautiful tanks. I can't wait to see what you put in the second tank. We also have hornwort in our betta tank and the biggest problem I have with it is getting it to stay down, but Neptune loves it and I like the way it looks also. Like everyone else has said very easy to grow. |

| HatchetHaven: you are so lucky to be able to go to a beach and get some of these pretty pebbles. I got mines really cheap at a landscaping place 70lbs for $10.00.
Suave: The only store by me that sells plants is Petsmart and they don't even know what kind of plants they have. I asked a few workers there what kind of plants do they sell and they couldn't even tell me. How tall does Hornworts get? and how do they look (got a link)?
Thanks every one else for the nice compliments. I redid the the first tank and took some of the rocks out. It's now more swimming space in the middle of the tank. Oh and my second tank has finished cycling and i'll be adding the 4 danios from the other tank. I seeded this tank and it took a week and a day to cycle. I'll be adding more vids soon |

I get a lot of my aquascaping materials from nature: twigs, autumn leaf litter, stones, anything I can find that is aquarium safe I pick up usually!
Hornwort looks like this: http://www.plantgeek.net/plantguide_viewer.php?id=51 http://www.plantgeek.net/plantguide_viewer.php?id=50 |

| HatchetHaven, You gave me a good idea. i'm going to look around the beach near by and see if I find anything interesting. How can i tell if a rock is safe for my tank or not? I'll also check at Petsmart today to see if they have any Hornwort. Thanks for the link |

| Aesthetically pleasing, the set up so far has really brought out the fish, and their color. Well done! |
