yes, very small, dime size asian clams, you cant see it in the vid but there is a glass baking dish in the center @ the bottom of the tank, it has about 1//4 to 1/2 inch of sand, they're doing quite well, I've had them for months. They come up out of the sand occasionally to filter and bury themselves right back down.

The tank is gorgeous! I think it is so cool that you are keeping clams in your tank. I have never heard of that before! Do you plan on re-homing your koi as they grow? I have heard that they need a minimum of 1000 gallons since they can get more than a couple feet long.

Very beautiful fish , too bad the clams didn't want to make an appearance.

I have 4 koi of various sizes, a very large 7 yr old goldfish, and a survivor feeder goldfish: most of what i have are throw aways/orphans. Im sure when the time comes we will find placement for them.

If nothing else, I want to keep "JAWS" the largest and the oldest goldfish (approx 7-8 in) I've had him for quite a few years now,and the pink butterfly Koi.

And FYI, the combination of the giant snails and the clams make for cleaner filters, and less extensive water changes.
