My female is the exact same color.,but I see ton of those bettas with that color all over the fish websites and at fish stores. Weird.. By the way nice one.
She is cute. I saw a bunch of veil tail females at Walmart yesterday. 1st time I have seen them around here. Of course ALL the fish were sick, quarantined.
You can see her a little more clearly in these, but they're still not a good quality. The video resolution on my camera isn't very high, so I don't think I'll be able to get really good vids of her.
No, I haven't named her yet. Right now, I just refer to her as a "cute little piggie-fish", and had considered naming her Notorious P.I.G. for her entirely betta-like eating habits...but Rose says she's "too cute to be called pig".
She is most definitely too cute. She is also very active so she may need to be fed a bit more than the average betta. NOT at one time but perhaps a fourth small meal if she remains this active. Is she getting 3 pellets 3 times a day now? If she continues to be this active and you have her at 80 degrees in her tank then she could have a 4th small meal a couple hours before bed of 2 pellets and it may help her to feel more satisfied. She is so very hyper that she may not be getting enough to eat. But 11 pellets a day is as many as she is going to beg me out of... As long as she is getting at least 3 hours between feedings and on the days she gets peas then she should not get the extra 2 pellets. (2 to 3 times a week for peas)
How does this sound? More quality time with your baby.
She's darling! Does she have a name yet? Actually now that I think about it, Darling is pretty cute for a name
LOL.. Now that is funny....
My female betta that I have had for about 6 months is named "Darling" and she looks just like Luna's female. They can be twins...
I said the same thing when I saw mine at the LFS, I said, what a little 'darling' and that is how she got her name... lol..
I've got a new one, with the tank moved to its new stand and with the new bubbles in.
YouTube says this video is uploaded, but it's still giving me "this video is unavailable" errors. Not sure when they'll finish whatever it is they're doing and make it available. Feh.

This is typical behavior at Betta Kappa House. You can see her zip to the top and start looking for food as soon as I open the top of her tank! Cute little piggie-fish that she is.
Okay, today's video is of her eating some little bits of pea for dinner. As usual, YouTube is being fussy about getting it ready for viewing...
I used my tripod so that I could film it without having to hold my camera. You'll notice I don't use aquarium tweezers, I have plastic one-piece "chopstics for dummies" that I'm using...that have a picture of a fish on the side.

She's such a fiesty girl -- she was waiting for you to drop more. Doesn't take them long to learn that they can go for dropped pieces later, so they ignore them wanting to get more out of you.
I just love watching her. She is such a darling little girl. I think she is growing and I can tell her fins are getting bigger. She is doing very well and you are keeping her really healthy for being in a tank that is not fully cycled yet. Congratulations!
