Why cant i see it?

Why can i see the reading with my own eyes? is the lighting that bad? my camera got it lol. i don't get it...its vary faint after 7-8 hrs of use. i have a smaller one on the side left there but i wanted a bigger one on the front so i can read it easier and faster. ill admit my eyes aren't very good

Maybe the room lighting?
I don't care for that type of themometer. It might pick up the room temp rather than the water temp.

I got a new temp gauge last night at Wal-Mart for under $2. It has a suction cup to hold it in place and it's the style of the old mercury gauges. It is pretty small so not sure how much help that will be for ya.

My eyes are fine and i have a hard time reading mine... its the same basic stick on kind. I have to turn on a nearby lamp and shine it on... then i can read it... maybe its the lighting... full spectrum light bulbs i think is the trick XP

I have one of those stick-on ones, and it seems to be fairly accurate.
Every once in a while I check it just to be sure. To do that, I use a brewing thermometer. It has really big numbers......................
