Wierdness, please help!....

Ok my 30g has basically stopped looking lively....
I took out some plants that were in there to put them in a plant only shallow tank to grow bigger faster... other than that there hasn't been much change....

in the tank I have

7 cardinal tetras
5 corries
1 dwarf gourami
1 pearl gourami
2 snails
2 african butterfly fish

The butterfly fish just sit at the top and rarely move in the first place the Dwarf gourami likes to hang out with them and slowly idles around.
the pearl gourami sits near the bottom and the cardinals swim in a standstill agains the current that comes from the filter...

The biggest trigger that caught my attention were the corries... They are usually like the energizer bunny and never stop moving.... ever.... now they are all resting on the gravel (or what appears to be resting)...

The water has been mildly cloudy since the fish have stopped being active. And I haven't been able to reduce the cloudiness even with chemicals. I have been keeping up with my weekly water changes.

Pleas help
Thanks

No salt and if there would be any left there would be very little I have done a 50% wc and a 30% wc since then.

ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 0

I have only used crystal clear by aquarium products... Oh and when I do my wc's i use API stress coat in the new water. The aloa vera one.

Thanks

crystal clear is going to temporarily clear up the tank, but it makes a huge huge change in pH immediately as well as kill off some of your beneficial bacteria...ph shock can be a killer.......stop using that and just let the tank cycle properly with daily water changes....get some prime or amquel + if you can ..that will help if you get an ammonia/nitrite reading....what test kit are you using? and it will take more than 2 water changes to remove .02 salt....(at least I think) and the effects you are seeing now, could be the salt effect ....

because the crystal clear could throw you into a mini cycle...its awful stuff that many dont know about and prime is great for even just water changes

I'm not sure how well the pearl will do with the butterflies. Also those cardinals may start disappearing if they get too close to the surface.

Also, if your water is good but your corys are now lethargic and not very active, there's a good possibility they are being overfed. It's best to keep your corys hungry, for you and for them. They ought to forage on a regular basis.

Ok wellll as far as over fed that might have been occruing... oops : / ... and the pearl is really chill... he doesn't mess with anyone just kindof explores the place now... And as far as the cardinals disapearing... the butterflys are babys with a body barely bigger than the cardinals so they have a way to go before the cardinals turn into $4 dollar snacks... when their bigger I should have my other 30g cycled. Thanks for ya'lls help!
