bow front tank

Just wondering what are the pros vs. cons of bow front tanks. I currently have a 35 gal tank and am looking to upgrade. I really want a 55 gal but have seen some bow fronts as well. Are they better if so why, if they are worse, why?

Thanks

I love bow fronts! I have a 26g bow and am now looking at a 90g bow. They have a clean, sharp look about em. Personally, there are no con's with these tanks. I also like the added width and the view from the front. I guess it's just a personal preference.

There are no pros other than some people think they look sleeker. In my opinion i agree but in my opinion its not worth the markup.

Personally I think the bowfronts look cheap. I'd stick with the flat glass.

Hello Red. I've really enjoyed having my 155g bow front. They've really gotten a lot more popular in the past 10 years. I like the panoramic view that they offer. I don't really see any pros or cons per say other than the view being great. Just a matter of preference. Too bad you aren't closer. Mine is still for sale.

Ken, I wish I was closer because I know for sure that your tank would be a winner!!!! I was looking at a 55 gallon bow front but for some reason it looks smaller than the regular tanks. I am going to keep looking until I find one that pops at me right away. Maybe in waiting I will find something even bigger.

Good luck in your hunt Red. I know you'll find one that just screams "buy me".
Thanks for the compliment.

The 72 gallon bowfronts look really nice. I have a 36g bowfront and would love to upgrade to a 72 gallon + a python!
