I posted a wanted add for an aquarium 55+ gal. I got an email this morning from a guy that has a 75 g and 120 g. It has hood, pump and filters. He said to make him an offer. I emailed him back and asked for the dementions of both, acrylic or glass and about pump and filter. Havent heard back from him yet but if all sounds good what should I offer ?? I am pretty financially strapped right now but am dying for at least 1 new tank. I could eat ramen noodles for the next month if I could get a new tank !! lol !! seriously !!

I got a 55 off craig's list for $50.00. Everything included but the stand.
I also got a 55g from a yardsale for $20.00. I forget if it has a filter but it came with a power head and it didn't have a stand. Everything else was included.

Maybe that'll give you an idea of what to offer.
Plus, you'll want to see it before you make an offer. It may have hard water spots, cracks etc.
See if he'll send you a pic. or maybe you can go see it.

I bought my 55 for $30. Around here they usually sell for around $100 for 55. So maybe $150 for the 75?

ok thanks ! wow ! a 55 for $20 !! I should be so lucky ! I just got another email from a lady with a 200 gal--waiting to find out how much she wants !! Im getting all excited !! Im thinking oscars !!

yes there are but a bit out of my price range and some are only 30 gal or less. One lady is trying to sell a 10 gal with pump for $50 !! I dont think so !! lol !

Somewhere I read a good rule of thumb is $1.00 per gallon for a used tank. Don't ask me where I read this I don't remember but it sounded good to me.

A 200 gallon? That sounds sweeeeet! I can't imagine how much they would put a price on that! Keep us updated yeah? I wanna know what you choose in the end!

the guy emailed me back--he wants &75 for 75 gal and $200 for 12o gal but is offering discount if I want both--which of course I do--not sure I can afford it but I will see what he offers !!!! Hmmmm.....my mind is reeling now ! lol ! so just got another email from him--(2) 75g for $125 !!!!!! wooooo hooooo !!!!!!!
