Tank on a slight slant

Hi all,

Iv been filling my tank with more water lately coz i have a very well stocked tank but have now noticed that the tank is on a slight slant. The tank is 90 cm and the difference between water level at each end of the tank and the top of the tank is 1cm. Would this be bad for the tank? like too much pressure on one side, or is this variant to small to make a diff?

Thanks

Marty

Hi Shawnie,

Thanks for the quick reply yeah this place iv moved into has really uneven flooring, especially around the walls. I never noticed it before coz i didnt fill the tank up to the top but now that the water is closer to the top you can see the difference. as long as it wont put unbearable pressure on one side, its all good
Thanks again for the quick reply

Hey,
I have that too. It is maybe half a cm but it really bugs me. I just top it up a little more so you can't see it. So far I havn't noticed any extra stress on the tank.

i found a good way to lift the tank without taking water out. i used my car jack ha ha i lifted the tank a bit and slip some cardboard under one leg and now the difference is .5cm which isnt so noticable.

I don't think I've ever had a level floor. But a tiny tilt doesn't seem to bother much of anything. The center of my little house is actually a little higher than the outside walls, which was my saving grace when the washer hose broke - the flood stayed on one side! All my tanks have a tiny tilt.
