55 gal tank Leak

I should not say leak the whole side separated . This is a used tank I bought.

What should i use? I had put water in for 2 days then sand and water for 2 more days and now it decides leak lol!

No fish were in the tank when it leaked

Should I reseal the entire tank? If so How?

You'll definitely need to reseal the entire tank. Unfortunately, new silicone does not adhere well to old silicone, so you'll need to strip all the seals with a razor blade. Then, take a cotton ball moistened with rubbing alcohol to clean up the remainder of the old silicone. When you reseal, the new silicone will need to cure for 48 hrs before adding water to leak test.

This is how I've resealed tanks in the past; however, I have never had a tank separate so I'm pretty much guessing that my method will work. It may not. I hope someone else can come along that will be more helpful. In the meantime, best of luck to you.

do i have to take the entire aquarium apart or can i do it one side at a time? if so what should i do first? the vertical seams or the Horizontal? The "frame" that it is in appears not to hold the glass together in the first place

here is a picture of the top of it and this is the bottom same seam

Is this an older aquarium? I've only seen the top brace in one piece, and not separated as your pic shows. Is it a standard size 55 gallon (48x13x19, I believe, may be wrong)? If so, you may be able to contact the manufacturer and purchase the top or bottom frame. I'm not sure if that would help you regarding the separated panes. It's honestly out of my scope of knowledge.
