Need some help...

So i bought this 75 gallon aquarium and stand off craigslist and got a VERY good deal. However, the tank is very dirty and the "oak" finish on the top is cracking and peeling. I can even take almost all of the wood panel off. I was wondering if anyone knew how I could go about replacing this. I cant just take it off because it has the little lip for the hood and lights. If anyone can suggest something or point me in the right direction that would be great.

Thanks.

The tanks top frame, as well as the bottom frame, is structural. Your tank needs them both.
Here is a link to people who sell the frames. My 75G has the same foot print as the 90G, listed at the bottom.
Measure your glass exterior then call them and quiz them on sizes before hand, to be sure.

Thank you so much! I believe my 75 gallon is the same size as the 90 gallon on there. Only $16 isn't that bad either.

I just want to make sure though, this is the 1-2 inch panel that goes around the top of the tank and has the little ledge for the Hood/Lights right? Sorry, I just want to make sure

Again, Thanks so much for your help!

Look at the bottom of tank and should see Manufacturer's label (small). If label has anchor sign, it is Perfecto. If label says AGA, it is All-Glass-Aquarium..
Do measure the thickness of glass since there are tempered Glass 75 and plate Glass 75G thus different Frame.
These Co do have these frames avail so one can replace when need to.
You can also contact the MFR for assitance.
Well, this is with an assumption that label is still there.

I have few Old tank (some over 10 yrs old and more, actually just gave away one 20L by AGA with label dated 99)) with labels still on them except Metaframe Tank with slate bottom rather glass bottom. To be honest, I dont remember where the labels wouldve been on the Metaframe Tank, LOL!
Hope this helped.

You have to add $15 shipping, but still, $30 +/- isn't bad, especially if you got a great deal on the tank in the first place.

Yes, it's the panel that goes around the top and over the top and forms a lip for the glass lids or hood/lights.
It should also have a middle brace, a thin piece that runs from the front to the back.

You're welcome.
I agree with what cerianthus says, you might contact the manufacturer, if you can figure out who it is.
Who ever you order from, be sure to ask alot of questions. See if they will send you instructions for removal and installation.
It seems I've seen some posts on trim replacement on some forums but I wasn't interested at the time.
If the trim seller will give you this info, all the better.

My 90G AllGlass (now Aqueon) has the same exterior measurements as my 75G Top Fin.
The thicknesses of the glass are approx. 3/8 and 5/16, but I suspect it's measured in millimeters.
I don't own a Perfecto to give you those measurements.

The weight, according to the manufacturers for the Aqueon (AllGlass) is 98 lb while the Perfecto/Marineland is 97 lb and the Top Fin is supposedly a Petsmart brand, so ...?

It's hard to know, especially if yours is a really old tank.

The interior measurements which relates to the thickness of the glass may be important for good fit.

I suspect the manufacturer could give you those measurements if you can figure out who they are.

You should be as exact as possible with the measurements when you order to lessen any problems for install.
