i dont know much about what you can do about it but it is caused most of the time by over feeding and high nitrates

i think but dont quote me on that

oh okay, i did a bit of reading and it says algae is most likely caused by high phosphate levels, which can be caused by over feeding. so you are kinda right there. so i guess its time to do a water change and a cleaning. thanks!!

if it's long and green then it's probably hair algae. It happens when you have a good maintained tank so nothing to really worry about.

Too, algae is affected by light. I suggest keeping your lights on for 12 hours a day. As stated above algae is a good sign and also means you have good oxygen in the water. I think some algae in the tank makes it look more natural. Please don't add any chemicals to get rid of it.
