Would a Tv stand work for 46 gal Aquarium?

Goodmorning I just saw this for sale and was wondering if that stand is safe for that aquarium? And if this looks like a good deal?

46 Gallon Bow front tank with light, two bio wheel filters, and a black stand. Very clean, no cracks, no leaks. There is a little calcium build up on the filter units. Below are the links to what they look like. 75.00 or OBO

I would be dubious as the stand is for TV's up to 32" and the tank is 36" I am just not sure the supports would be in the right place for the tank

hmm aren't tvs measured diagnally? I was worried about the weight of the aquarium. I dunno I'm a bit nervous about it since it isn't an actual "Aquarium Stand"
She emailed me back and said it's still available. I'm so tempted jump on it. I already have two tanks that i'm just starting to stock so really I need another tank like i need a hole in the head. Lol So do you think it's a good deal on the tank even if the stand won't work out?

Just talked to her and she said that she has had the aquarium filled on that stand for 4 years with no problems.

Yes TV's are measured on a diagnal. But tanks need their support at the edges where the weight is. Those side bars are probably in the right place and if they are then the weight distribution will be ok.

I dont know enough about US prices to know if that is a good price or not.

i doubt it would be able to support the weight of a 46 gallon tank, that's going to be approximately 500 lbs, and i can't see anywhere on the site if it says how much weight that stand can actually hold

well I've committed to going to check it out here in a bit. I'll probably get it then look around for an actual aquarium stand.

Thought maybe you guys would talk me out of getting Another aquarium. Lol.

I used a Walmart laundry cabinet for a couple of my tanks. I just braced it, on the inside, with some spare boards that I had. I would just make sure that, if you use something made of particle board, you have supports at least every 18". You may also want to apply a waterproof coating to it. I found out the hard way that my cabinet stand absorbs any water dripped on it...

Oh no, we're not the MTS support group We encourage that sort of thing actually.

I don't think a TV stand is going to support all the weight to be honest.

LOL well I got it.... It looks Awesome! I also bought all his lava rocks. It has two filters one is marineland and the other is a peguin.
My husband is going to kill me when he gets home. lol. I have no idea where to put this. Maybe move his lazy boy? lol jk. Don't think that will make things easier. I "could" give up the 30 gal but it's been sitting all nice and pretty just waiting for me to add fish. :-)
I have no clue what I'm thinking. I have a 55gal. a 30gal. and now a 46gal and only 5 fish. Do ya think i'm overstocked? LOL

Oh Nooo I'm a victim now. I knew I shoulda stayed away from this place Lol.

no not whales. a pleco, 2 bleeding hearts and 2 red eye tetras.

I was going to pick up a couple more today but the fish guy wouldn't sell me any lol said since I just put the tetras in one week ago that I should wait another week. Soooooooooo with nothing else to do, I headed 30 miles south and bought me another aquarium. lol my man is not gonna be happy. AH I gotta figure out something really good and really fast to cook for dinner! That might make things a little better.

That is some VERY good advice really. You should be happy that your LFS actually cares about the fish, some LFSs give very bad advice.

Well I thought a week was good. Guess I either didn't do enough reading or didn't retain what I've read. I know I spent days on this forum reading.

ROFL!!!!!! You are about as far from me as you can get and still be in the US. lol I don't want to pack this baby up so if you wanna swing by California on your way to your LFS then maybe we can make some sort of deal. Hows that? :-)
