ok. went to petsmart to look at STANDS for my birthday. stumbled on this marvelous thing of ultimate beauty.....only to see the price tag of 599.99.
so i keep lookin and the petsmart associate comes up and says...the manager will make you a deal on this thing. and i said, "really? why?"
She says, "the little clip on the light is broken and we've had it for over a year. want me to go ask him?"
Thinkin that a 10 to 15% markdown was what i would get i replied, "Nah, that's ok." Then my darling wonderful girlfriend INSISTED that she go ask.
"Why are you wasting our time and hers? It just gonna be a crappy markdown and I still won't be able to get it," I said.
So I start lookin it over. Comes with everything FLUVAL. Open top, bent glass 41 G. with stainless steel trim. with a retro stand that has a light suspension rig with a nice light fixture. ALSO comes with a Fluval 205

I NEARLY WET MYSELF. for one little broken plastic clip, i got 225 dollars off!!
....so long story short, let your girlfriend be a Chatty Cathy. you might just get one heck of a deal out of it! especially if she is being so generous on your birthday....
