55 Gallon Tank: sand ok for fish?

I was wondering if anyone knew if i could use half pool sand and half gravel in my tank. I have 3 mollies, 4 platies, 2 cherry barbs, 5 zebra danios, amano shrimp, dojo loach, and 4 adf. I plan on getting 2 dwarf gouramis, and 5 neon tetras. Will sand on half of th etank be ok for these type of fish? Oh and i have bamboo and want to get more plants will sand be ok for that too?

yep that would be great

just know that eventually all of the sand will make its way underneath the gravel
