My betta is losing its fins...

My betta had long fins now he's kinda like bald!! The tetras (I have 9) keeps nipping them. And plus he is very sluggish. Stays in one place for a very long time. My tank is 10 gallons.
The Before and after pictures...

And the culprits!!

These tetras are the ones responsible. By the way what tetras are these?

Tetras can be fin nippers. From the picture I cannot really see the tetras. It is dark. I can see a change in the Betta's fins. Definitely shorter. Any chance the Betta can have his own 10 gallon or 5 gallon?

I had the same issues till i put my Betta in his own tank, he is very happy now and his fins have grown back nicely! Them Tetra's can be quite the little terrorists!

I'm sorry about your Betta.
I posted in your welcome thread. As the others have said, he really should be in a heated filtered cycled tank of his own. IMO 5g's is minimum, but other members keeps theirs in 2.5g's and they do fine
With his own home, Pristine water some extra Stress Coat, a few drops of garlic and lots of TLC he should heal up quickly.

Good luck

You need to watch him carefully after you move him. He will be susceptible to fin rot now. You may want to try adding fishy vitamins to his water. If he isn't getting better you may want to treat him with an antifungal. I find it is easier to feed them medicine, than trying to treat the whole tank, but if he wont eat, then Jungle Fungus Clear usually gets rid of fin rot. I hope he doesn't get fin rot because it is really hard to battle. Good luck!

poor little guy everyone above has you covered on advice, just make sure you keep his water really clean, as genie mentioned he will be more susceptible to disease now.
