Need help with tank hood

I need to cover this hole in the back of my tank hood. It was for a heater, but I have a submersable heater now, so I want to get that hole covered! But I don't know how. Any ideas? Btw, I think this is where this goes, either here or DIY.

well duck tape works it aint pretty, but if your hood is black you can get black duck tape that wouldnt be as noticeable, Im guessing its not a large hole, so it wouldnt take much.

I was thinking about duct tape, but I don't really want to come home and find that my fish jumped up and got stuck to the tape...Anything I could put under the sticky part?

I would put two pieces of duct tape face to face (sticky side to sticky side) with one having some sticky that hangs out. Then, you could duct tape the hole but the nonsticky surface of duct tape would also face the water as well as up.

that would definitely do the trick, to be on the safe side, but if you didnt after while the moisture from the tank would kill off the stick residue besides a soakin wet fish aint gonna stick to tape.

I use plastic craft sheets that I got from walmart. It's easy to cut them to whatever size you need and inexpensive.

I am using rigid plastic net (available in green and white locally) I discovered as wandering around the gardening alley in a store. Easy to cut and safe for jumpers.
