Need some input

Hey, I don't know if this is the best place to put this but I'm looking into buying a new tank and am talking to the guy about this set up. However I know that there are some questions I should be asking him and I'm having a bad long term blonde moment about them. The dimensions are 3' by 12.5" by 18". Since they're coming with stands and all I think the price isn't bad. However I don't know much about the filter's that he's listed. Anyone willing to give me a hand?

Well it sounds like a good deal to me. The fluval filters range from like the $125 to middle $200. Just ensure everything is on working order. Good luck.

The price and set up is about right for the used market. Because your a beginner, don't accept the 1 albino ciclid and 3 cleaning fish (think these are likely Plecos they can grow big!) Two 33 gal tanks are nice but ... for $500 on the used market, a single 55 gal might be better since you have a lot to learn about tank care. JMHO.

honestly, i'd just ask for pics of everything and check them out myself before driving out there and then discovering that there are huge scratches or the filters are in horrible condition or something

ok got an email and pictures from him. Both tanks are still up and running, live plants (Java fern) and all. The tanks look to be in good shape, no obvious scratches in the pics. The $500 is for both 33 gal tanks, stands, and all fish accessories that he has (test kits, meds, food, cleaning supplies, etc.).

Thanks for all the responses guys, keep them coming, usually when I set up a tank I buy each piece separate so I've never had to look at a whole set up before that's why I'm having a bit of trouble. Also at the moment the biggest tank I have is a 10 gal so this is a little different.

Columbia_MD_Bob: all I'm interested in is the tanks ect. I've got a RTS that would love room to stretch his fins and this whole thing is for him. A 55 gal would be nice to have but there aren't many of those floating around in the area.
agabr123: Pictures are a good thing
navyscuba: Good to know that they're good filters. Know anything about diatom filters?

These pics aren't mine yet so I hope I don't get in trouble for this, I just thought that you might be interested.
