Deaden external power filter sound?

Just wondering what ways there are to deaden the sound of an external power filter. I have my tank in my living room, and while not that annoying, the constant sound of water splashing is sort of distracting. Any advice?

Welcome to Fishlore.
Fill the tank more. The closer the water level is to the output, the quieter the splashing will be.
