AquaClear Ammonia Remover filters

I was wondering what you guys thought of the AquaClear Ammonia Remover filter bags..is it worth using ? And do you run into the same problem as carbon filters...where after a short period of time it will begin to release the toxins it absorbed back into the tank ?

I havent changed mine, I just rinse it in the used tank water when I feel it needs to be done. Im sure that whatever good was in it, is gone, but I find it just an additional place for good beneficial bacteria to grow, so that is why I leave it in.
In my opinion, any excess ammonia in the tank should be taken out with a water change asap and not left in for the ammonia remover to do the job.
Guess they were good for a new tank set up, but since the tanks are cycled, its really not necessary IMO.

I use the ammo chips in my aqua clear. I change them about every 6 weeks. I dont buy them from the store, I reuse the bag, rinsed in tank water from water change done every 10 days, and put new chips in the bag from a bulk container that I got at a LFS. I don't use as many chips as the purchased ones have in them. I also just rinse them in tank water during changes.
